Mumbai Logs 8 New Covid-19 Cases, 1 Death; Active Tally Below 50

The recovery count increased by eight, upping their cumulative tally to 11,35,423 and leaving the metropolis with an active caseload of 47, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official added.

Mumbai on Tuesday recorded eight new COVID-19 cases, taking the overall  tally to 11,55,217, while one more patient succumbed to the infection, pushing the death toll to 19,747, a civic official said.

The deceased, a man aged 68, suffered from multiple diseases, including kidney ailment and hypertension, said the official.

Out of the eight fresh cases, one patient was admitted to hospital, taking the number of hospitalized persons to five, he said.

As per BMC data, Mumbai's coronavirus recovery rate stood at 98.3 per cent, while the case doubling time was 1,43,652 days.

So far, 1,86,76,394 coronavirus tests have been conducted in the city, including 2,786 in the last 24 hours, said the civic body.
