Logicacmg, one of Europe’s leading software services firms, is following in Microsoft’s footsteps: downsizing operations in Britain and Ireland to pitch tent in Bangalore. The company will save on its salary bill but it will mean at least 100 employees will be shown the door at their Bristol unit. Another 160 will lose their jobs in Dublin and Cork, Ireland. By year-end, the company will have hired 1,000 engineers in India. The focus here will be on product development, although backoffice ops too could be part of it.
