Amid speculation and demands for Justice Ganguly’s resignation as chairman of the West Bengal Human Rights Commission, the former SC judge, who has been reluctant to speak to the media, has however clarified his stance on some key questions in a brief interview to Outlook:
Are you going to step down?
No, I have not considered it at all.
Do you feel that you are justified in staying on based on the support you have received from human rights groups over a number of cases?
That may have happened. But my decision is not based on that.

What is your relationship with the law student who has accused you?
