"Even Nehru Floundered"

S.M. Krishna, the hi-tech Congress chief minister of Karnataka, tells B.R. Srikanth that Sonia's irrelevance can be debated only 20 years hence:

Sonia Gandhi is facing a lot of flak from within the party.
If the leaders have grievances, let them air it within the four walls of a Congress office and in the presence of party workers. Let them talk to the latter about how they propose to run the party.

Who would be the ideal choice as Sonia Gandhi's successor?
This is the beginning and blossoming of Sonia Gandhi. So, this question will be relevant 20 years later, not today.

She is stumbling at every stage?
Well, every leader has. Even Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru floundered on the Sino-Indian issue. We would not have had Kashmir if he had not bungled in 1947. Every leader is prone to mistakes.

Ram Niwas Mirdha has said the new president of Congress will be elected by November 1...
Of course, we will elect the aicc president. I have my own choice, and will convey it at the appropriate time. I can tell you now that it will be on expected lines. Don't expect surprises.

Apart from the four chief ministers, tell me who are the leaders whose support Sonia Gandhi can count on?
What about Motilal Vora? What about the statements of A.K. Antony, of Karunakaran and Ram Niwas Mirdha? Why aren't you counting their support?
