Death Toll Rises To Four In Kerala Blasts

In addition to Moly Joy, a 12-year-old girl named Libina from Malayattoor in Ernakulam district had also tragically succumbed to her injuries on October 30 at Kalamassery Government Medical College Hospital.

The death toll resulting from the tragic blasts that rocked a Christian religious gathering in the vicinity just one week ago has now reached four individuals. The most recent victim, identified as Moly Joy hailing from Kalamassery, passed away early on Monday at a private hospital due to the injuries sustained during the incident. Moly Joy had suffered severe injuries, with over 70 percent burns, and had been on ventilator support since the blasts occurred on October 29. Initially receiving treatment at another private hospital, she was later transferred to Ernakulam Medical Center.

In addition to Moly Joy, a 12-year-old girl named Libina from Malayattoor in Ernakulam district had also tragically succumbed to her injuries on October 30 at Kalamassery Government Medical College Hospital. The incident had claimed the lives of two women on the day it occurred, and over 50 people were injured, some with severe injuries, during the multiple blasts that took place at the international convention center in Kalamassery, near the port city of Kerala.

These individuals had gathered for the final day of a three-day-long prayer meeting organized by the followers of Jehovah's Witnesses.

In a subsequent development, a man purporting to be an estranged member of Jehovah's Witnesses surrendered himself to the police in Thrissur district, just hours after the incident, asserting his responsibility for the multiple blasts. Subsequently, the police formally arrested the individual.
