Rise in College Football

Garett Wolfe's football career in college was marked by impressive statistics, achievements and accolades. He became the all-time leading rusher in Mid-American Conference (MAC) history. In 2006, he was a finalist for the Doak Walker Award, which is given to the best running back in college football.

Wolfe studied from Illinois's Holy Cross High School in River Grove. During his final two years of high school, he ran for 4,311 yards and 56 touchdowns. During his time at Holy Cross, Wolfe broke eleven school records and received numerous accolades from the Chicago media, including the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times.

Wolfe’s football career

In the 2007 NFL Draft, Garrett Wolfe was selected in the third round (93rd overall) by the Chicago Bears. He played for the Bears as a running back and a kick returner. However, his professional career did not achieve the same level of success as his college career. He struggled to secure a consistent role on the team due to competition from other running backs and various injuries.

Wolfe's time in the NFL was relatively short-lived. He played for the Chicago Bears from 2007 to 2010, after which he had brief stints with other NFL teams, including the Detroit Lions and the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Wolfe joined the Omaha Nighthawks in late 2011 and the Montreal Alouettes on May 14, 2012.
 

Remaining unsigned throughout the 2011 NFL lockout, Wolfe encountered legal trouble in May 2011, when he was arrested on charges of retail theft, disorderly conduct, assault of a police officer, and resisting arrest with violence, stemming from an altercation at a Miami Beach nightclub. Eventually, all charges against Wolfe were dismissed.
