Discover the details of a daring $500K jewelry heist in Hollywood, Florida, and the ongoing search for the culprits

Jewelry store robbery

Police are searching for two suspects who robbed a jewelry store in Hollywood, Florida on Saturday and made off with over $500,000 worth of merchandise. The robbery was caught on camera, and the store owner is offering a $10,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest.

The robbery occurred at approximately 10:30 AM at Mint Jewelers by Boodaddy Diamonds, located at 2300 Hollywood Boulevard. According to police, the two suspects entered the store and posed as customers. They then asked an employee to open a display case, and when the employee did, they grabbed a large amount of jewelry and fled the scene.

The suspects were described as two black males, both approximately 5'10" tall and weighing around 160 pounds. One suspect was wearing a black hoodie, black sweatpants, and a black baseball cap. The other suspect was wearing a blue hoodie, blue jeans, and a white baseball cap.

Both suspects were seen leaving the store on foot and heading westbound on Hollywood Boulevard. Police have reviewed surveillance footage from the area and are working to identify the suspects.
The store owner, Christopher, said that he is "devastated" by the robbery. He said that he has been in business for over 20 years and has never been robbed before.

"I'm just so grateful that no one was hurt," Christopher said. "But I'm also very angry. These people took a lot of hard work away from me and my employees."

Christopher is offering a $10,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspects. He is also urging anyone with information to contact the Hollywood Police Department at 954-967-4411.

The robbery at Mint Jewelers is just the latest in a string of jewelry heists in South Florida in recent months. In February, a jewelry store in Miami was robbed at gunpoint, and in March, a jewelry store in Fort Lauderdale was burglarized.

Police are urging jewelry store owners to take steps to protect their businesses, such as installing security cameras and alarm systems. Customers are also advised to be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity to the police.
