About the Bhuta Family
The Bhuta family is one of Mumbai’s oldest and most respected lineages, with roots tracing back to the late 1800s. Originally known for multigenerational land ownership, the family naturally transitioned into real estate development, focusing on Slum Rehabilitation Projects that aim to uplift marginalized communities by transforming urban slums into dignified, liveable homes.
Rooted deeply in Gandhian philosophy, the Bhuta family played a significant role in India’s freedom struggle, especially through Shri Jaysukhlal Nagardas Bhuta and Nagardas Dharsey Bhuta — the grandfather and great-grandfather of Shri Shubhendu Kamlesh Bhuta. This legacy of patriotism, humility, and nation-building continues to inspire the family’s mission and social contributions today.
