This week we learnt about...Dominos in Italy

American fast food giant Dominos has taken a bold move by opening a store in Italy, the home of pizza. While one could easily compare the move to selling ice to Eskimos, Richard Allison, president of international operations is optimistic and has plans to open at least three more stores in Italy by the end of the year. In an attempt to woo customers, the store is using only locally sourced products and has come up with a completely new recipe. We can only wait and see how long the store lasts in a country where people take the pizza more seriou­sly than religion. Perhaps they are targeting all those American tourists.
