  • Powertrain options include a 1.8-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel engine.

  • The Superb Corporate Edition is Rs 1.8 lakh more affordable than Style variant.

  • The lower prices are only available until the end of September 2019.

  • Features remain unchanged; gets right airbags, a panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, and more.

After launching the Kodiaq Corporate Edition earlier this month, Skoda has now reintroduced the Superb Corporate Edition in the country. Based on the Style variant, the Corporate Edition is Rs 1.8 lakh more affordable than the latter while retaining all its features. The limited-run variant is available with a petrol-AT (Rs 26 lakh) or a diesel-AT (Rs 28.5, ex-showroom Delhi) powertrain options. These special prices are only available until the end of September 2019 and not limited to existing Skoda customers.

The Superb petrol uses a 1.8-litre turbocharged unit that produces 180PS and 250Nm. The Corporate Edition variant gets the DSG auto gearbox. But with the discount, it is priced the same as the version that comes with the 6-speed manual gearbox. Meanwhile, the diesel engine is a 2.0-litre unit that produces 177PS and 350Nm. It too is only available with a DSG automatic.

Since the Corporate Edition is based on the Style variant, it gets the same list of features but at a lower price. It includes eight airbags, leather interior, bi-xenon headlights, three-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display and a 12-way power-adjustable driver seat. The top-spec L&K variant also offers power-adjustable front passenger seat, ventilated front seats, hands-free parking, and more.

However, the Corporate Edition is only offered in two exterior paint options - white and brown - while the L&K variant also gets the option of black and grey. Skoda is also offering the Superb Corporate Edition with the optional Skoda Shield Plus package that gets you six years (4+2) of warranty , roadside assistance and motor insurance.

The discounted prices of the Skoda Superb bring it closer to its cousin and primary rivalry, the Volkswagen Passat, which is currently priced between Rs 26 lakh to Rs 33.21 lakh (ex-showroom). It also rivals the likes of the Toyota Camry Hybrid and the Honda Accord Hybrid in India.
