  • Variant-wise feature list to be revealed at launch on 21 May 2019.

  • Three engine options - 1.2-litre petrol, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol (with AT option) and 1.4-litre diesel

  • The 1.2-litre petrol is only available with the base-spec E and S, whereas S also gets an option of the 1.0-litre turbo.

  • SX, SX Dual Tone and SX (O) are exclusively offered with the 1.0-litre turbo engine when it comes to the petrol-powered version.

  • Top-spec SX(O) not available with petrol-automatic option.

  • All seven monotone colours offered with all variants, three choices for dual-tone variants.

Official bookings for the upcoming Hyundai Venue are now underway at Hyundai’s showrooms and its website as well. As a result, we now know the variant list and choice of colours that will be offered on the new sub-4 metre SUV.

The Venue’s variant list is identical in nomenclature to that of the Creta. Hyundai has labelled the base-spec as the E variant and the top-spec as the SX(O) variant. The Venue will come with three engine options: a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit, 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit and a 1.4-litre diesel engine. The 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel units are only available with a manual gearbox - 5- and 6-speed, respectively. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol is offered with the option of a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic) besides a 6-speed manual. Here’s the full list with the powertrain-wise variant options:

The base-spec E variant is not available with the 120PS turbo-petrol engine. Meanwhile, the 83PS 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine is offered only on base-spec E variant and a step above, the S variant. Hyundai will be offering the 1.0-litre petrol-automatic variant only on the S and SX+ variants. While we don’t know what features it would miss out on, we know it won’t be available with a dual-tone exterior paint option.

In terms of colour options, the three dual tone options are limited to the SX variant only for both the turbo-petrol manual and diesel engine variants. The combinations to be offered are:

  • Blue with white roof

  • White with black roof

  • Orange with black roof

There will be seven monotone colour options offered across all variants of the Venue:

  • Star Dust

  • Fiery Red

  • Polar White

  • Typhoon Silver

  • Deep Forest

  • Lava Orange

  • Denim Blue

Of the above mentioned colours, Deep Forest, Lava Orange and Denim Blue (both monotone and dual tone options) are the newest additions to the Hyundai range of colours. The existing shade of orange is known as Passion Orange. Even the dual-tone options of white with black roof and orange with black roof are offered on the Creta compact SUV as well. There is no all-black exterior paint option, which was recently spotted (possibly an export variant), to be available with the India-spec Venue.

Even though we know the variant list of the Hyundai Venue, the variant-wise features are not expected to be known till the time of launch, ie, 21 May 2019. The Venue is expected to be priced between Rs 7.20 lakh to Rs 12 lakh. It will take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport and Tata Nexon.
