Shefali Jariwala, Of Kaanta Laga Fame, Dies At 42; TV Industry Mourns

Shefali Jariwala Death: Reportedly, Shefali died of cardiac arrest, but the cause of her death is yet to be revealed officially.

Shefali Jariwala, model and television actor, passed away in Mumbai on Friday, June 27. She was 42. Popularly known for her appearance in the iconic Kaanta Laga song and her stint on Bigg Boss 13, she reportedly died due to a cardiac arrest.

As per reports, Shefali suffered a sudden cardiac arrest late Friday night, and was immediately rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai by her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, and three others. But she was declared dead on arrival. As of now, cardiac arrest is said to be the primary cause. The exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed.

The Mumbai Police has said that Shefali was found at her residence in Andheri, Mumbai.

News agency ANI quoted the cops saying, "Mumbai Police received information about this at 1 am. Her body has been sent to Cooper Hospital for postmortem. The cause of death is not yet clear."

A police and a Forensics team arrived at her residence today, June 28.

Celebs mourn Shefali Jariwala's death

From Rashami Desai, Kiku Sharda, Aly Goni to Kamya Punjabi and Paras Chhabra, several TV celebs mourned the sudden demise of Shefali Jariwala. Singer Mika Singh also expressed grief on social media.

Mika wrote on Instagram, "I'm deeply shocked, saddened, and feeling a heavy heart. Our beloved dear friend @shefalijariwala has left us."

Paras shared a picture with Shefali and captioned it, "Kiski zindagi kitni likhi hai koi nahi janta. Om Shanti."

Aly is also "shocked and saddened" to hear about Shefali Jariwala’s sudden demise. He added. "Life is so unpredictable. Rest in peace."

Kamya Panjabi wrote, "I can’t get over this news… my heart is sinking. Shefali."

Himanshi Khurana, who was also one of the contestants on Bigg Boss 13 wrote, "Bigg Boss that place is cursed I think."

Kiku Sharda wrote on Instagram, "This is shocking!!!!!! worked with her on a couple of web shows, she was full of energy, full of life, always greeted all with a big bright smile. Will miss you Shefali, you were a beautiful soul. Rest in Peace. Om Shanti."

Rashami Desai, Shefali's co-contestant on BB 13, also expressed grief. "I am still trying to process the news, you were an incredible person and I am struggling to find the words to express…You will be deeply missed, gone too soon," she wrote on Instagram Stories.

The All Indian Cine Workers Association paid a tribute to Shefali on its X handle. "Shefali Jariwala is no longer with us. Gone too soon at just 42 due to a sudden heart attack. It’s hard to believe she’s gone. May her soul rest in peace, and may God give strength to her family during this heartbreaking time," read the post.

Shefali's last X post was a tribute to her late friend and former boyfriend Sidharth Shukla on his death anniversary. She shared a throwback photo of both hugging with the caption, "Thinking of you today mere dost." During their stint on Bigg Boss 13, Shefali and Sidharth grabbed the headlines. Sidharth also passed away of a cardiac arrest in 2021.
