The post on X features a collage of clips from the actor's interview with The Lallantop, where he said, "I don't believe in God. I have no time," when asked about his belief system. In another clip, he was seen sitting inside a church with his family during the funeral service.
"Prakash Raj Calls himself an atheist & says he doesn't believe in God Yet performs his mother's last rites following Christian traditions (sic)," read the caption in the post. Responding to the troll, the actor wrote, "Yes. I don’t believe in god .. but my mother believed in her god . Who am i to deny her .. the right to be buried according to her belief. This is the basic respect we give one another. Will you Hate mongering monsters understand this (sic)."

Earlier, in an interview with The Times of India, the Singham actor had opened up about his bond with his mother. Calling her 'queen', he said, "She is an innocent soul who was brought up in an orphanage, as her mother died when she was 12 and her father was unable to take care of her. She became a nurse, which was when she met and fell in love with my father, who had been admitted as a patient."

He also shared that his mother faced lots of challenges and raised all four of them, remaining a strong Roman Catholic, and worked hard to support the family.
