Actor Vishnu Manchu-led mythological epic drama, Kannappa, hit the theatres on June 27, in all five languages - Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam. It opened to positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. Apart from Manchu, the magnum opus has a star-studded cast including Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, Kajal Aggarwal, and Mohan Babu in significant roles. Kannappa earned in single digit on the first day of its release.

Kannappa first day box office collection India

On Day 1, Kannappa earned Rs 8.95 crore (rough data) in all languages, as per a report in Sacnilk. It had an overall 55.89% Telugu occupancy on Friday. Night shows recorded the maximum occupancy of 69.87%, while evening, morning and afternoon shows had the occupancy of 52.81%, 50.55% and 50.34%, respectively.

In the Tamil circuit, it had an overall 16.45% occupancy, 14.56% in the Hindi belt, and 13.81% in Kannada and 7.20% in Malayalam languages.

Kannappa box office collection worldwide

Kannappa has also received overwhelming response overseas. Vishnu expressed his happiness with the love he is receiving. "This moment… I’ve waited for it my entire life. Hearing the overwhelming love pouring in from overseas premieres and early morning shows in India fills my heart with gratitude," he wrote on X.

Reportedly, the film has made Rs 18 crore gross worldwide. The makers are yet to share the worldwide box office collection of Kannappa.

Kannappa review

The Mukesh Kumar Singh-directorial has been praised by audiences for the storytelling, music, BGM, visuals, VFX, dialogues and performances.

They are stunned by the last 15-20 minutes which they called "spine-chilling", "spectacular" and "mind-blowing". Apart from Vishnu Manchu, fans are praising everyone performances, especially Prabhas.

Kannappa, which is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 200 crore, has been produced by AVA Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory.
