Actor Vikram has joined hands with '96 and Meiyazhagan-fame director C Prem Kumar for his 64th film. Dr Ishari K Ganesh of Vels Film International is producing the upcoming project. The makers announced the news on social media on Thursday (July 17).

Actor Vikram has collaborated with filmmaker Prem Kumar, for his 64th film. The action-thriller is produced by Vels Films International.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Vels Films International shared a few pics of Vikram, Prem Kumar and K Ganesh and wrote, "A collaboration that promises magic on screen We at @VelsFilmIntl are proud to present our next prestigious venture #Chiyaan64, starring the phenomenal @chiyaan and directed by the visionary #PremKumar (sic)".
Vikram, who was last seen in Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, also has Chiyaan 63, which is produced by Arun Viswa of Shanthi Talkies. The film was announced in 2024, and there is no update about it yet. Veera Dheera Sooran, directed by SU Arun Kumar, was released in March, for which Vikram received rave reviews for his performances. It was directed by S U Arun Kumar, and also starred SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Dushara Vijayan and Prudhvi Raj.
In December 2024, Vikram announced his collaboration with Madonne Ashwin, for Chiyaan 63. Announcing the news, he wrote, "Thrilled to team up with @iamarunviswa & @madonneashwin.. a combo on fire. Looking forward to an exhilarating collaboration (sic)".
Coming back to Prem Kumar, in December, he told The Hollywood Reporter India that he was writing the script for '96 sequel. There were reports of him making the sequel with Love Today actor Pradeep Ranganathan. But in May, he took to Instagram to deny the rumour. The director wrote, "This is a fake news as usual" and also clarified that if he makes a second part to '96, then it would be with the original cast.
