Sonnalli Seygall: For The World, Kartik Aaryan, Nushrratt Bharuccha Took Off After ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’, But I Have Seen The Days When They Had Their Failures

Sonnalli Seygall opens up on ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ co-stars Kartik Aaryan and Nushrratt Bharuccha becoming more famous than her after the super success of their film ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’, which also starred Sonnalli Seygall.

Sonnalli Seygall has slowly and steadily made a mark for herself in the past decade. Having started with ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’, she has gone on to create a niche for herself. However, what surprises many is that she started off with the same bunch of ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ actors, but while some of them have gone on to become superstars, she is still trying to make that big mark with a standout film.

Talking about how Kartik Aaryan and Nushrratt Bharuccha have become massively popular stars in today’s times, Sonnalli Seygall says, “Honestly, people doing well in general, inspire me. I am really the kind of person who believes in what you give, you get. So, I genuinely give out good wishes to people because I know that it's going to come back to me. It really makes me happy and inspires me when I see people who I started out with do well, whether it's Kartik, Nushrratt, Ishita, Omkar or Sunny, any one of them doing well.”

Sonnalli Seygall goes on to add, “I know the common consensus today is that Kartik and Nushrratt are doing better than the rest of us, but it inspires me and makes me believe. There are two things to it, first, they are not from the industry, they are not star kids as we call them. They made it on their own so that in itself is very inspiring for me. It gives me hope. It makes me believe that if it's possible with them, it's possible with everybody. So, then when you say only star kids make it, it's not true. You have examples like that. Secondly, I was personally invested in their journeys and I still am. I have seen them work hard. For the world, Kartik and Nushrratt took off after ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ but I have seen the days when they had their failures before that film. When Kartik would take trains from Vashi to Mumbai to come for auditions or when Nushrratt had certain dreams and desires and parts that she wanted to do. So, I feel very good.”

“When I saw ‘Akelli’s trailer, I sent a long love letter to Nushrratt. She and I used to watch Homeland together and when I watched Akelli's trailer, it somewhat reminded me of it in a good way. I told her that we used to watch ‘Homeland’ together and it's so inspiring that today you are doing a film like that. It gave me goosebumps. So, I feel really happy when I see their success and I know that you are always one hit away from your next big film. It's possible at any step and that's the kind of industry we are in. And that's the same for failures. So, just keep going at it, keep trying and you never know,” concludes Sonnalli Seygall.

On the work front, Sonnalli Seygall was recently seen in ‘Aseq’ on JioCinema.
