After the record-breaking success of ‘Animal’, the movie’s cast has spoken up and has defended the film. In a recent interview, Siddhant Karnick who played the role of Varun Malhotra in the film has come out in support of Sandeep Reddy Vanga and his craft.

In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, the actor spoke about the criticism the film and the director have received. He shed light on the sacrifices that have been made by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and his family to support his films. He spoke about the decision made by Vanga’s brother to help him.

He said, “His brother Prannay, he came down from the US. He had an IT job over there, left his family there, and came down to help his brother make the film. His entire family has b***s. I don’t have the courage to put my own money. They all came together, put up the money, he made Arjun Reddy and it became a hit. His second film with Shahid Kapoor crossed Rs 100 crore, third film is with Ranbir Kapoor, crossing Rs 800 crore. His next film is with Prabhas. Look at the trajectory of this man. It’s fair to judge his art, but look at his career and life. That takes courage. I learn from his family.”

He mentioned how he joined forces with his friends to form a company only to have the financiers back out a month before he commenced shooting. When he did not have any financial support, Vanga’s family sold their land and their 36 acres of mango farmland to fund his project.
