Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh Among Other Celebs Lose Twitter Blue Ticks

Major Bollywood stars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, have lost their blue check marks on Twitter this week.

On Thursday, Twitter started rolling out its Twitter Blue paid service, which meant prominent ‘legacy accounts’ that hadn’t subscribed to Twitter Blue will lose their blue check marks. Owing to that, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan and other biggest names in the Indian entertainment world, have lost their blue ticks and no longer have verified accounts.

In addition to Salman and Shah Rukh, other celebs who have lost their blue ticks on the platform include Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, Ram Charan, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra and many more. 

Actor Prakash Raj too lost his blue tick, and he tweeted, “Bye bye #BlueTick …. It was nice having you….my journey ..my conversations..my sharing…will continue with my people … you take care.” Comedian Ricky Gervais too commented, “My blue tick has gone. I’m not sure if I’m really me or not.”

Writer Stephen King commented “My Twitter account says I’ve subscribed to Twitter Blue. I haven’t. My Twitter account says I’ve given a phone number. I haven’t.”

Nonetheless, with celebs losing blue ticks on Twitter, the incident prompted people to create memes. Check out some of them. 

Earlier this week, Twitter rolled out of Twitter Blue, and now the cost blue check mark ranges from $8 for individuals and goes up to $1000 per month for organisations.
