Raveena Tandon Flies With Air India Days After AI 171 Crash; Pays Tribute To Victims

Raveena Tandon has flown with Air India and shared photos from her flight. She praised the crew and expressed condolences to the victims' families.

After the tragic Air India plane crash on June 12, 2025, which took 241 lives out of 242 on board, and also caused casualties on the ground, people are struggling with doubts and anxiety over safety of air travel. Amidst all these, actor Raveena Tandon has showed faith and support to the airline by flying with them. She said the atmosphere was "solemn" and the crew welcomed the passengers with smiles, "tinted with sadness".

On Monday, Raveena Tandon took to her Instagram handle to share pictures of herself inside the plane and also a picture of her boarding pass.

Sharing the images, Raveena wrote, "New Beginnings … to rise and fly again against all odds … to pick up and start all over, new resolve towards greater strength."

She added, "The atmosphere solemn and the crews welcoming smiles, tinted with sadness. The Silent passengers and crew bonding with unspoken condolences and subtle confidence. Condolences to the families that have lost their loved ones. A wound that will never heal. Godspeed always @airindia . Fearless and a will To overcome and be strong again. ♥️ Jai Hind(sic)".

Earlier, Vir Das also showed his support to Air India after it faced backlash over safety issues.

He wrote on Instagram, "It’s a tragic day for so many families. And all our thoughts and prayers are with them. I just wanted to add my support for the crew. I’ve flown Air India all my life. It is not an airline without problems but without fail, I know them to be the best crew in the sky."

About Ahmedabad plane crash

On Thursday, a London-bound Air India plane crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. It struck into a medical college hostel in Meghaninagar. Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani was also among the deceased. Only one passenger survived the horrific Ahmedabad plane crash. The Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner (AI 171) was carrying 242 people, including 230 passengers and 12 crew members.

Reports claim that the plane crash in Ahmedabad has killed a total of 270 people.
