Ranbir Kapoor Reveals How His Character In ‘Animal’ Is Similar Yet Different From ‘Arjun Reddy’, ‘Kabir Singh’

Ranbir kapoor says his character is ‘tough and uncompromising’ yet ‘relatable and human’.

Ranbir Kapoor will next be seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming film, ‘Animal’, and ever since the film’s teaser came out, everyone is keen to know more about Ranbir’s character in the film.

Now in an interview with Variety, Ranbir shared how his character in the film is similar yet different from ‘Arjun Reddy’ and ‘Kabir Singh’, the other infamous protagonists of Vanga. He also mentioned how ‘Animal’ would keep the audience at the edge of their seats.

Adding that he did not choose to do ‘Animal’ due to the success of Vanga’s previous films, ‘Arjun Reddy’ and ‘Kabir Singh’, he did so because of the script of the film.

Ranbir said, “I was really drawn to the script of Animal. It’s a unique and intense story that immediately caught my attention. As for watching Arjun Reddy or Kabir Singh, I must admit that I did watch both films and found them to be incredibly powerful and impactful. However, my decision to accept Animal was not solely based on those films.”

He also stated how his decision to do ‘Animal’ was a chance to 'explore new dimensions’ in his acting journey. Further calling his character “multi-dimensional and complex”, Ranbir said, “My character in Animal does possess some of the traits typically associated with Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s protagonists. He is indeed tough and uncompromising in certain aspects.”

But there are some traits which set him apart from other protagonists. Ranbir said, “While he may exhibit strength and determination, there are also moments of vulnerability and internal conflict that make him more relatable and human.”

In the movie, Ranbir will be seen playing a doting son to his father, played by Anil Kapoor. He is also shown to be in love with Rashmika Mandanna’s character. Bobby Deol will be seen in the film.

Ranbir is confident that ‘Animal’ will keep the viewers ‘captivated’. He said, “Animal is a gripping and intense film that delves into the depths of human emotions and relationships. It explores the complexities of life and the choices we make, with a narrative that keeps you on the edge of your seat.”

The film is all set to hit the screens on December 1, along with Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Sam Bahadur’, starring Vicky Kaushal.
