Kirti Kulhari Talks About Preparing For The Role Of A Surgeon

Actress Kirti Kulhari, who is playing the role of a surgeon in the recently released web series ‘Human’, met with several people from this profession, to understand and more importantly form a perspective about the world she was going to be a part of, on screen.  

“I spoke to a lot of doctors. In a way I got a bit of a deeper understanding, because my sister and brother-in-law are doctors, so I could ask them a lot of things about their profession. I wanted to meet a lot of people from this profession, because I wanted to understand the entire psychology behind the profession, the hierarchy, the politics etc. So, I wanted to get different perspectives on this profession. I also spoke to a lot of psychiatrists, to get their perspective,” she says.  

The dark-intense medical thriller explores the dark and twisted world of unethical human drug trials, enunciating the collateral damage caused due to fast-tracked drug trials for financial gains at the cost of innocent lives which are being lost to greed. 

“It was well written The script, the way the script, and my character, was written, and the idea of playing a doctor, were all reasons why I agreed to be a part of the show. Plus, there was Shefali (Shah) in the it, which was just another reason. All of them ticked a box as an actor to say a yes to it, I think” she adds.  

“So, we sat down with the directors and writers, and it was just really interesting to know so many sides to the profession. We collected all of that and created Dr Saira Sabharwal, who had to be original in her own way,” says Kulhari.
