Kartik Aaryan has undergone successful knee surgery after sustaining an injury while performing an action sequence on the set of his upcoming film with director Kabir Khan. The actor has now returned home and is recovering, with his spokesperson confirming that he is expected to resume shooting soon.
A statement from Kartik’s spokesperson confirmed that the actor had injured his knee during an action sequence. “His surgery was completed successfully, and he is now back home, resting and recovering. He will be back on set soon,” the spokesperson said.
According to a source close to the production, Kartik was admitted to Fortis Raheja Hospital in Mumbai following the injury. The actor was expected to undergo surgery before taking a few days to recover and resume his professional commitments.
This is not the first time Kartik has suffered a knee injury while working on a film. He had previously injured his knee during the shoot of Shehzada in 2023.
The injury comes shortly after a major professional milestone for Kartik. The actor won his first National Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance as Paralympic gold medallist Murlikant Petkar in Kabir Khan’s Chandu Champion.
The 72nd National Film Awards were announced on July 18, with Kartik sharing the honour with Malayalam star Mammootty, who was recognised for Bramayugam. Mammootty won his fourth National Award.
Once recovered, Kartik is expected to return to Kabir Khan’s untitled project. He will also resume work on Anurag Basu’s romantic drama, which co-stars Sreeleela.
