Shanaya Kapoor is reportedly all set to make her OTT debut with 'Student Of The Year 3'
In a rather interesting move, it is reported that Karan Johar now wants to turn his 'Student Of The Year' into a franchise, that too for OTT. And guess what? His planned web series will reportedly feature Shanaya Kapoor, who would be making her OTT debut with the project.
For those caught unaware, Karan Johar introduced 3 new faces with 'Student Of The Year' in 2012. They were Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan, and the trio made their Bollywood debuts with the film. A few years later, Puneet Malhotra helmed 'Student Of The Year 2' featuring Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria.
Now, with KJo reportedly deciding to turn 'SOTY' into a web series, it looks like Shanaya is going to be part of it. It is believed that Karan will turn the film franchise into a web series partnership with Disney+ Hotstar. Shanaya, who is all set to make her debut with Mohanlal's 'Vrushabha', will have 'SOTY 3' as her debut in the OTT space.
Not to miss, Karan is close friends with Shanaya’s parents, Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor. He also gave a shout out to Shanaya Kapoor for her acting debut, and wrote, "Some journeys are perceived as privileged, some are also given the tag of lineage benefit and all of that is true but in you Shanaya. I have only seen a girl who dreamt of nothing but being a pure artist and facing the camera only when you had put in all that immense hard work and so much passion. This is such a brilliant opportunity for you to learn so much from the legendary Mohanlal sir.. who I admire and respect so much (sic)."
On the work front, Karan is gearing up for his comeback directorial 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani'. The film marks his return as a director after a gap of 7 years. Starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, 'RRKPK' is slated to hit the big screen on July 28, 2023.
