When he praised her technique, Panettiere reportedly corrected him, saying, “I’m not a trained seal. I feel it and the tears just happen to come at that moment.”
Coleman also reflected on the intense scrutiny Panettiere endured while growing up in the public eye. He said photographers followed her relentlessly and described the treatment as predatory, particularly given that she was still a teenager.

Panettiere is survived by her parents and daughter Kaya. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office said the cause and manner of her death remain pending further investigation.
