First Look Out! Dharmendra To Play Sufi Saint Shaikh Salim Chishti In ‘Taj – Divided By Blood’

The veteran actor will also be seen in Karan Johar's ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ with Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt.

A new series is set to drop on Zee5 and it has veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah essaying the role of king Akbar. The period drama, titled 'Taj - Divided by Blood', is touted to be a revelatory telling of the succession drama that transpired in the hallowed chambers of the Mughal empire.

The series is all set to have an ensemble cast with Aditi Rao Hydari as Anarkali, Aashim Gulati as Prince Salim, Taha Shah as Prince Murad, Shubham Kumar Mehra as Prince Daniyal, Sandhya Mridul as Queen Jodha Bai, Zareena Wahab as Queen Salima, Sauraseni Maitra as Mehr un Nisa, Rahul Bose as Mirza Hakim and Dharmendra as Sheikh Salim Christi.

Now the first look of Dharmendra as Sheikh Salim Christi has finally been unveiled and we must say, the veteran actor looks completely unrecognizable.

On Wednesday, he shared a picture of himself in costume as Shaikh Salim Chishti, and wrote, “Friends, I am playing Shaikh Slim Chishti ….a sufi saint, in the film Taaj. A small but important role………need your good wishes.” In the pictures, Dharmendra is wearing black and brown robes, a turban, and sports long grey hair and beard. Check it out:

The series will be a depiction of the rise and fall of the generations that follow, apart from their passion for arts, poetry and architecture, and some remarkably cold-blooded decisions in the hunt for power.

'Taj - Divided by Blood' will be soon available to stream on ZEE5. It is produced by Contiloe Digital along with William Borthwick as the showrunner, Simon Fantauzzo as the writer and Ronald Scalpello as the director.

Dharmendra will also be seen in Karan Johar's ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ with Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt.
