Dhadak 2 Trailer: Siddhant Chaturvedi, Triptii Dimri's Chemistry Shines In The Gripping Love Story Of Caste And Conflict

It was in May 2024, filmmaker Karan Johar announced upcoming film, Dhadak 2, with an intense romantic poster featuring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri. Directed by Shazia Iqbal, Dhadak 2 marks Siddhant and Triptii's first film together. The much-awaited trailer was unveiled today, which offered a glimpse of a dramatic storyline that explores love and challenges societal norms.

Sharing the trailer of Dhadak 2 on his Instagram handle, Karan Johar wrote, "Two worlds collide to beat as one💙#Dhadak2 trailer out now! Releasing in cinemas on 1st August (sic)".

Set in the backdrop of class system, Dhadak 2 stars Triptii Dimri as Vidhi, and Siddhant Chaturvedi as Neelesh, who meet in a college and their love blooms. At the beginning of the trailer, Chaturvedi's Neelesh tells Dimri's Vidhi to stay away from him, if she loves him. He says being together isn't as easy as she thinks. Vidhi tells Neelesh, it's also not that hard as he thinks. As Neelesh belongs to a lower caste and Vidhi comes from a higher and privileged one, their relationship goes through a series of challenges. Siddhant’s character faces multiple hurdles both in college and beyond. Will their love stand the test of time? Well, for that we have to wait for August.

The trailer shows a sizzling chemistry between Siddhant and Triptii, and both promise power-packed performances. The soothing music and Shreya Ghoshal's voice at the end of the trailer, will tug at your heartstrings instantly.

Apart from Siddhant and Triptii, the film also stars Ashish Chaudhary, Saurabh Sachdeva, Manjiri Pupala, Vipin Sharma, Ashwant Lodhi, Amit Jaat, Priyank Tiwari, Mayank Khanna and Aditya Thakare in supporting roles.

Dhadak 2 is based on the 2018 Tamil movie Pariyerum Perumal, which revolves around a love story between a law student from a lower caste and his classmate, who is from a higher caste.

The film was announced in May 2024, and was originally scheduled to release in November 2024 but was postponed to March 2025 due to the delay in certification by the censor board. Recently, it reportedly got a clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), with a U/A certificate after 16 major changes.
