Comic Book On BTS' Journey To Be Published By TidalWave, K-Netizens React

Global sensation BTS is getting their own comic book by TidalWave, which will be out on January 10.

Despite being on a hiatus due to mandatory military services, BTS has been giving their fans continous content. As of recently, the latest addition is a comic book, which will include their rise to stardom. Since their debut in 2013, BTS has crossed South Korean borders with their pop/hip-hop music and paved the way for other K-Pop artists to make a name for themselves in the western music industry.

TidalWave Comics has taken up the task to publish this 22-page book to its biography comic line FAME, which shines light on musical artists. BTS will be added next to the lineup of artists like Adele, Beyonce, to name a few.

The glossy book will cover how these seven boys - RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook - became famous and how they transitioned from being idols to soldiers. They took a break as a group in June 2022 to complete their military duties.

However, as exciting as it sounds, fans in Korea have mixed reactions to it.

One said, "They don’t look alike at all. It’s being released by a U.S. company..it’s cool that they added the story to enlistment…BTS is really famous…but they really didn’t do justice on the drawings.” Another said, "The drawing style itself is bad…they should draw it so we can tell who is who…” While a fan said, “I still kinda want to read it at least once.”

“They don’t look alike at all," said one. Meanwhile, the other said, “Although I can’t tell who is who…our BTS is still amazing.”

With all members enlisted, fans are eagerly awaiting their comeback in June 2025.  The book is set to be released in both print and digital formats on January 10.
