Britney Spears Thrashes New Album Rumours, Says 'I Will Never Return To The Music Industry'

Britney Spears slammed down rumours and stated that she's never returning to the music industry.

Singing sensation Britney Spears has been someone who has been under constant surveillance by cameras. There's rumours and many times, false narratives, that surround her. Addressing the most recent rumour about her working on new music, she took to social media to announce that she will “never return to the music industry.”

The pop singer penned a lengthy note in retaliation to reports put out by Page Six about her collaborating with fellow singer Charli XCX and songwriter Julia Michaels for a music record, which is supposedly "only starting to take shape," marking Spears' comeback in almost four years.

So, in response to slam the "trash" rumours, the 'Toxic' singer took to Instagram to post a picture of an Italian Renaissance painting of 'Salome Bearing the Head of St. John the Baptist,' by Guido Reni and wrote, “Just so we're clear most of the news is trash !!! They keep saying I’m turning to random people to do a new album … I will never return to the music industry !!!"

She continued, “When I write, I write for fun or I write for other people !!! For those of you who have read my book, there’s loads that you don’t know about me … I’ve written over 20 songs for other people the past two years !!!” Michaels and Spears have worked together in the past, including Britney's last album 'Glory,' but the nature of their partnership is unknown.

Spears then called herself a ghostwriter. She also addressed some claims which said that her memoir, 'The Woman in Me,' was released without her permission. The book sold more than one million copies in its first week alone. She went on to say, "I'm a ghostwriter and I honestly enjoy it that way !!! People are also saying MY BOOK WAS RELEASED WITHOUT MY APPROVAL ILLEGALLY and that's far from the truth ... have you read the news these days ???"

"I’m so LOVED and blessed !!!" she concluded.
