Summary
  • Ariana Grande has condemned the Trump administration for using her song in a TikTok video with reprehensible messaging.

  • This isn't the first time she has called out the administration.

  • A bevy of musicians have questioned Trump's government for unauthorised usage of their work to promote problematic ideologies.

Ariana Grande once again hit back at Donald Trump's government after one of her songs were used to soundtrack a TikTok video posted by the Team Trump account, which was created during the 2024 presidential campaign. Her song, "We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)” was used in the post that featured a controversial statement: “Men can’t have babies and should never compete in women’s sports.”

Grande got alerted of eam Trump’s post and condemned the administration for using her work in the comment section. “Never use my music again. Also, your truth is false,” she responded.

The clip depicted Trump walking on stage at a rally, with captions that started by quoting the song’s lyrics, “Me and my truth we sit in silence…”

Deadline reported that Grande's label is now striving to get the song removed from the TikTok post.

Ariana Grande Has Often Called Out Trump's Administration

In June, the White House used her 2024 song “Bye” in an Immigration and Customs Enforcement TikTok video depicting federal agents arresting and handcuffing people. In the comment section of the clip, the Grammy winner insisted that the administration stop using her music, according to Reuters. She wrote, “Please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense.”

In September 2025, she also reshared a post on her Instagram Story that lambasted the administration’s immigration raids, rhetoric toward transgender people, and urgent concerns about free speech.

Grande is the latest to rebuke the Trump administration and take strident action over unauthorized use of her music on social media, after the likes of Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, SZA, the Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Katy Perry, Kesha, Radiohead, Noah Kahan, Jess Glynne, Kenny Loggins and more have also hit back.
