Pokemon has announced a new movie, which will be its first in six years.
Pokemon: Wild Card is slated for 2027.
A teaser was also dropped.
Pokémon has teased a new animated movie for the Pokémon TCG -- the first Pokemon movie in seven years. It will be titled Pokémon: Wild Card and will feature a PokémonTCG player and Mimikyu. It will release in 2027. The film was unveiled during the closing ceremony of the 2026 Pokémon World Championships, held in San Francisco. A short teaser also promised a brief look at the upcoming movie, which features a trading card game player and a ghostly Pokémon named Mimikyu.
Katsuhiko Kitada, who previously worked on anime films and shows like The First Slam Dunk, Attack on Titan, Naruto: Shippuden and more, will hlem Pokémon: Wild Card. Character design is being handled by Akemi Hayashi, who has worked on Banana Fish, Lazarus and other anime. CloverWorks, the Japanese animation studio behind titles like Spy X Family, Bocchi the Rock and others, will back the film.
