Alia Bhatt Reveals She Was Nervous Before Met Gala Debut, Talks About Feeling ‘Little Wobble In Her Knees’

Alia Bhatt, who recently made her Met Gala debut, shared some behind-the-scenes glimpses before the red carpet.

Bollywood star Alia Bhatt made her much-talked about debut at the biggest fashion event in the world - Met Gala - and she certainly looked like a dream. In fact, she left everyone gasping as she graced the red carpet, and was a sight to behold in an embellished white gown made with pearls.

She even posed for the camera with designer Prabal Gurung, but did you know that the actress was nervous and had wobbly knees before the event?

On Friday, Alia gave fans some behind-the-scenes glimpses of what went down before her red carpet appearance. In the clip, she talked about feeling nervous because of her puffy dress and her "very high" heels. During the final fitting, Alia even joked, "Cool, can somebody like lift me up now, and place me on the (Met Gala) carpet from here?"

Talking about her debut Met Gala look, she told Vogue Magazine, "When you talk about one of the major events in the year globally, the first that comes to mind is the Met Gala. It is very exciting, but I will definitely tell you that when I am stepping out of that sprinter van, I am going to feel a little wobble in my knees. It is not going to be really nice because I have a very big dress, and very high shoes."

The theme for this year's Met Ball was ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty’, and for the same, Alia’s look was designed by Indian fashion designer Prabal Gurung.

Her outfit for the event featured a dramatic sheer train and hundreds (if not thousands) of pearl beads, which made her look like a pure princess bride—”which certainly was a recurring theme in the decades-spanning catalog of Lagerfeld’s work”. Interestingly, Alia also wore a fingerless glove, which was one of Lagerfeld’s favorite accessories.
