Vidhu Vinod Chopra's son Agni has made his debut in Ranji Trophy and has garnered immense praise for his batting prowess.

Director Vidhu Vinod Chopra has a lot to celebrate; there doesn't seem to be an end to his celebrations. The buzz around his directorial '12th Fail' is only increasing, so much that it became the highest-rated Indian film on IMDb. However, apart from the success of his movie, his son Agni Chopra has made a name for himself in Indian cricket. Though it's a small feat, a win is a win.

Agni had an impressive start to his first-class career, garnering immense praise for his remarkable performance with his batting during a Ranji Trophy match. Playing for Mizoram, Agni proved his cricketing prowess by making an impressive 166 runs off 179 balls in his first innings against Sikkim.

Mizoram strugged to make runs as Sikkim were leading by 228 runs in the first innings. But Agni's performance stood out. He continued to hit shots and went on to score 92 runs off only 74 balls in the second innings, showcasing that he makes the list of rising cricketers in India.

The left-handed batter has played many T20s and many List A matches but this marks his debut in premier domestic competitions. In List A cricket, Agni has accumulated 174 runs and in T20s, he has gathered 234 runs with a strike rate of 150.96.

The 25-year-old started playing cricket in Michigan but gained momentum and decided to make a career out of it in Mumbai, where he played for various junior cricket teams. Later on, he shifted to Mizoram's team, wherein his debut for the state happened in October 2023 when he scored a mere five runs in a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match against Chhattisgarh.
