'The Vaccine War' Box Office: Vivek Agnihotri's Film Has A Slow Start On Day 1

'The Vaccine War' that released in theatres on September 28 had a slow start at the box office. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the film stars Nana Patekar, Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Raima Sen, Girija Oak, and Nivedita Bhattacharya among others.

'The Vaccine War' directed by filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri created a lot of buzz before its release. The movie hit the theatres on September 28 on the occasion of Ganesh Visarjan. It clashed with 'Fukrey 3' and Kangana Ranaut starrer 'Chandramukhi 2'. 'The Vaccine War' failed to live up to the expectations at the box office as it had a dull start on day 1. The movie didn't even earn Rs 2 crore. It has also received mixed reviews from critics.

As per industry tracker Sacnilk, on the first day, 'The Vaccine War' collected only Rs 1.3 crore at the box office. Vivek also helmed 'The Kashmir Files' that opened with Rs 3.55 crore at the box office as per a report by Bollywood Hungama. It had a theatrical run of Rs 252.90 crore.

Richa Chadha, Pankaj Tripathi starter 'Fukrey 3' has comparatively performed well at the ticket windows. It minted Rs 8.50 crore on day 1. Also, Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' is still running successfully at theatres. So, in that case, 'The Vaccine War' will face a competition.

'The Vaccine War' is about the Covid vaccine and what went through while making it. It stars Nana Patekar, Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Raima Sen, Girija Oak, and Nivedita Bhattacharya among others.

Earlier, in an earlier interview, Vivek told Galatta Plus, “These days, if you just write the name Jawan, at least 10,000 people will come and review it. People do so much YouTube-ing now. Yet, when such an important film like The Vaccine War is coming, and that too after I delivered a Rs 350-crore movie which also created a significant impact, nobody has reviewed it because money is being paid and there’s an embargo that nobody should utter our names.”
