'Tejas' Vs '12th Fail' Box Office Day 2: Kangana Ranaut Starrer Shows No Improvement, Vikrant Massey's Film Witnesses Growth

Kangana Ranaut starrer 'Tejas' and Vikrant Massey's '12th Fail clashed at the box office on October 27. The former is showing no sign of improvement while the latter has witnessed growth on day 2 at the box office.

On October 27, two movies clashed at the box office- Kangana Ranaut starrer 'Tejas' and '12th Fail' starring Vikrant Massey. The former opened to mixed reviews and had a slow start on day 1 of its release. The Vidhu Vinod Chopra's directorial too failed to do wonders despite positive reviews. But it saw a growth on the second day of its release. 

On Friday, 'Tejas' earned Rs 1.25 crore as per a report in Sacnilk. On day 2, on Saturday, there was no improvement as the movie collected Rs 1.30 crore as per early estimates. So, the total collection of the aerial action film stands at Rs 2.55 crore after two days of its release. As per the portal, Kangana's film had 7.58 percent Hindi occupancy on Saturday.

'Tejas' is about a female fighter pilot Tejas played by Kangana. It shows her journey as an IAF pilot and facing challenges and hurdles while fighting for the nation on a rescue mission.

The film has been written and directed by Sarvesh Mewara and produced By Ronnie Screwvala. Anshul Chauhan, Varun Mitra, Ashish Vidyarthi, Vishak Nair, Kashyap Shangari, Sunit Tandon, Rio Kapadia, Mohan Agashe and Mushtaq Kak are in pivotal roles.

'12 Fail' earned Rs 1.10 crore on Friday. It registered 9.09 percent Hindi occupancy and 6.5 percent Kannada occupancy. The film minted Rs 2.5 crore on Saturday, as per early estimates. The total collection stands at Rs 3.6 crore.

The film got positive responses from critics and audiences and due to word of mouth, it saw a growth on day 2. The movie is expected to do well in the coming days. But there is a tough competitor on the way as Salman Khan's 'Tiger 3' is releasing on November 12. 

'12th Fail' is based on Anurag Pathak's best-selling novel about the journey of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and IRS officer Shraddha Joshi. The film also stars Medha Shankar, Harish Khanna, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Vikas Divyakirti, Sanjay Bishnoi, and Vijay Kumar Dogra among others.
