‘Animal’ Box Office Day 4: Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Ranbir Kapoor-Starrer Collects Rs 28 Crore On First Monday

The film has been raking in moolah ever since its release, and has been making several records at the box office.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga's family crime drama film ‘Animal’, starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role, has been witnessing polarising views ever since its release. But despite that, the film has been minting money and breaking several box office records, both at the domestic and the worldwide box office. 

On its first Monday since its release on December 1, the film saw its first dip, and managed to earn Rs 27.97 crore on its fourth day, after collecting around Rs 60 crore figures every day since it hit theatres. 

As per early estimates, with the film collecting Rs 27.97 crore on Monday, ‘Animal’ has grossed ₹229.5 crore in India so far. The collections so far include Rs 63.8 crore on the opening day, Rs 66.27 crore on Saturday, and Rs 71.46 crore on Sunday. At the worldwide box office, the film has crossed Rs 356 crore gross, the makers said on Monday. 

The official Instagram handle of the film also shared the weekend collection of ‘Animal’. “Box office tsunami! Weekend collection ₹356 crore worldwide gross,” the post read.

It has also emerged successful globally surpassing the likes of ‘Napoleon’ and ‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes’ with $42.1 million, according to recent data. The worldwide gross total of the film includes $6.1 million in North America where it was released across 850 locations and opened at Number 7, as reported by Variety.

Coming to the pan-India film, it also features Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, Tripti Dimri, Suresh Oberoi, Shakti Kapoor, and Prem Chopra. It is based on a troubled relationship between Ranbir’s Ranvijay Singh and his father Balbir Singh, played by Anil Kapoor, amid a backdrop of a violent world. The film got an A certificate by the CBFC ahead of its release.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar’s T-Series, Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios and Pranay Reddy Vanga’s Bhadrakali Pictures, the Sandeep Reddy Vanga-directed film released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
