The much-awaited Atlantis Sanya is now open on Hainan Island. The $1.6 billion, 540,000 sq m propertyis the latest to join China’s luxury resorts list. Located on the Haitang Bay National Coast, Atlantis Sanya is built around the myth of the ‘lost city of Atlantis’. Thus, as you can imagine, water is a running theme.
The resort offers water play on Aquaventure Waterpark’s (spanning 200,000 sq m) twisting waterslides, exploration of the ancient Atlantis civilization at the Lost Chambers aquarium (spanning two floors) alongside over 80,000 exotic marine creatures, while guests can also look into the largest open-air aquarium in the world, the Ambassador Lagoon.
