It’s tested the patience of many. The Iglesia de la Sagrada Família, the magnificent Sagrada Família in Barcelona’s Antoni Gaudí, the enfant terrible of Catalonian aesthetics has been under construction for 132 years. Started in 1883, it has now entered its last stage of construction. According to the current chief architect, Jordi Fauli, six more towers will be added to the basilica by 2026. This will take the total to 18, each is dedicated to a different religious figure. The building’s completion is timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of its original architect’s death. When it’s finished, the basilica, at 564 feet, will be the tallest religious building in Europe.

Being under construction has not prevented tourists from flocking to the landmark, however. A video of how the building will finally look has been just released on Youtube showing the grand spires shooting up, and the central cupola rising into view.
