The ICMR might revise its recommendation on hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) for treatment of COVID-19 patients following doubts over its efficacy. India is the world’s largest producer of this anti-malarial drug, which is also used to treat auto-immune disorders. HCQ has failed two controlled trials in China and France.

Railways will run 200 fully reserved trains having both AC and non-AC coaches from June 1, including Durontos, Sampark Krantis, Jan Shatabdis. Bookings began on May 21. Meanwhile, domestic flights will resume from May 25 but resumption of international operations might take a while.

H-1B visa-holders, a majority of them Indian IT professionals, do not adversely affect Americans, according to new research. The Trump administration is planning restrictions on the non-immigrant visa, which allows US companies to employ foreign workers, premised on the argument that such workers harm job prospects of US college grads.
