The Bihar police are worried. Intelligence reports say that Nepalese Maoists are active along the Indo-Nepal border. A recent attack in East Champaran’s Madhuban has been linked to Maoists from across the border. Recently, over a dozen Nepalese Maoists (who admitted being part of Prachanda’s outlawed militia) nursing bullet injuries were picked up from hospitals in Muzaffarpur. Among those arrested—a number of women. An alarming twist to all this is that the Maoists reportedly have links with the LTTE. An unearthed training camp in West Champaran district is another indication: the Maoists are using Bihar to regroup before launching attacks in Nepal.
