Rain-Washed In Kilpauk

Commemorating Madras Week is an exhibition of watercolours by eminent artist S. Potrarasan. Madras: A Reflection is a visual portrait of Potrarasan’s favourite locations of Madras—washed by the monsoon clouds and emanating a romantic glow. The collection is a visibly dreamy and nostalgic rendition of the artist’s beloved city, accentuated by the skilled use of sensuous watercolours and of light and colour. Dark grey clouds, muted hues and soft blue skies on a rainy day hover over the paintings, capturing the monsoons perfectly in a city otherwise known for its hot weather. It leaves everyone with a deep longing for the rain. Till Sep 5, Forum Art Gallery
