When Jupiter Yambem bagged a manager's job a few years ago at Windows on the World, an elegant eatery on the 107th floor of the World Trade Center's North Tower patronised by the likes of Elizabeth

Taylor and Hillary Clinton, his brother, Yambem Laba, a human rights worker in his faraway hilly hometown in Manipur, India, thought Jupiter had the "easiest" address in New York City. "Today, I realise it also turned out to be the easiest terrorist target in the US," says Laba.

Jupiter, 38, also turned out to be the first confirmed Indian casualty in the attacks when his body was recovered from the debris of the wtc in New York last Monday. The youngest of five sons of an engineer in the northeastern Indian valley city, he had quit India in June 1981 on a youth programme and stayed back to pursue studies in financial management.
