  • Canada has opened its doors to farmers from the developing world to buy land and cultivate it
  • Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana, has started a course to orient farmers to conditions in Canada
  • Since farming in Punjab doesn't pay, farmers are selling their land and heading Westward
  • With towns and cities expanding, farmland fetches almost a crore per acre. It costs Rs 1.5 crore to buy a small sized farm in Canada.
