For engineering and medical colleges both objective and perceptual data were used. For the latter, faculty members and professionals were sent a structured questionnaire and asked to rate institutes other than their own on a ten-point scale against different parameters. The average aggregate score was multiplied by the weightage assigned. This total score was used for their ranking. Objective data was collected using a semi-structured questionnaire. The parameters and the corresponding marks are given with the tables.
