The music release function of partition film Pinjar was held at the Wagah border, near Amritsar, to extend the hand of friendship to the neighbour. But if director Chandraprakash Dwivedi had his way, he’d have gone a step further. "I’d have loved to do a co-production with Pakistan, people even suggested I use actors from across the border," he says. It wasn’t possible then, given our more than cold vibes. But Dwivedi has used the work of Pakistani poet Zehra Nigah who he says has written one of the best poems on Ram. His wish list now includes Pinjar’s official release in Pakistan. Why not?
