What is it like hosting a talk show?
It's a far better place to be in. If I had to answer some of the questions, I'd be in a tight spot.

How did you think of doing a chat show?
I chat all the time, on the phone, at parties. I decided, might as well get paid for all the talking.

How is it to be directed by someone else?
Great. I've known Ravina Kohli for a long time. When she said, "Karan adjust your shirt," or "Karan touch up your face," it was all coming back to me.

Do you like being in front of the camera?
I hate it. I feel I'm fat and I don't like seeing my face. But they couldn't have a voice on the sofa asking the questions.

The guests are friends of yours.
It's strange to ask questions because of my relationship with them. I had to strike a balance between being over-cautious and over-friendly.

You said you're "moving away from the Karan Johar style."
The characters in my films were real in an unreal world. Now I want real characters in a real world.

Several of your guests have their own shows. Which ones do you watch?
I've not been able to catch any of Manish (Malhotra) or Sunita's (Menon) shows yet.

You recently wrote that the film fraternity lacks camaraderie.
I wrote what I believe. I don't think I can bring about a change. But if people were to give it a thought, I'd be happy.

Tell us about the new film you're scripting?
I am in the process. The thoughts are there in my mind but I have to put it on paper.

Is it a thriller? Do you like thrillers?
Thrillers I like but I'm scared of horror films.
