Congratulations are in order. Veteran journalist M.V. Kamath celebrated his 81st birthday last week with his oldest of friends and colleagues joining in for a party at Zaver Mahal in Marine Drive. Kamath remains busy with what he enjoys the most: writing sundry columns and working on his new book ...Meanwhile, a chunk of India seems to be plastered at the Toronto film festival this year. Mira Nair has done one of the films in the much-in-news 9/11 compendium ...Deepa Mehta, whose Bollywood/Hollywood was shown at the festival, predicted that the West will take to Indian film narrative the way it took to Iranian cinema few years ago...
