India and Ireland are a lot alike. Except that Ireland has fewer people (four million), more rainfall (1,200 to 2,000 mm through most of the year), more greenery and more watering holes (Dublin alone has 1,000 pubs). On the other hand, the Irish flag is a tricolour with the very same orange, white and green (vertical in their case). They have a woman as head of state. IT is their strongest industry and biggest export. And they have the same two-language formula as us: Irish is decreed as the first language but, in fact, is the second language. English is decreed as the second language but is, in fact, the first language. As first language, Irish has to be used—so road signs are twice the size they should be. Also, if you are caught jaywalking or committing a traffic offence, and the sign doesn't have any Irish, you get off scot-free by claiming you can't read English. That's not all: Indians and the Irish also use identical logic, as you will see from the following story:
