The vehicle sped along till it reached the Victory Playground area. I was then blindfolded. We then drove non-stop for an hour. I realised I was at Gandipeth (25 km away) because the driver had spoken of it inadvertently. I was taken to a room, stripped down to my underwear and pushed to the floor. I could feel the presence of other suspects because I heard their screams. My wallet, ID card, telephone diary etc were taken away.

My hands were tied behind my back. Even as I begged for mercy and pleaded my innocence, three persons pounced upon me—two squatted on my legs, one stood on my shoulders. One man hit my soles with a leather belt, while the other two beat me all over my body. The pain was excruciating. Finally I passed out.
