After treating a select audience to Sriram Raghavan’s relatively ­unseen and maiden feature about serial killer Raman Raghav, indie production house Drishyam Films are screening director Rajat Kapoor’s debut and unreleased venture, Private Detective: Two Plus Two Plus One this week. The screening is part of an initiative by the production house called The Masters, which aims to bring rare and never-seen-before films of India’s finest cinematic talents to cinephiles, followed by an interactive session with the filmmakers. The film stars Irrfan Khan (in his first role as a cop), Naseeruddin Shah, Ally Khan and Kashmira Shah, and was shot by Kapoor in 1997 after he had just graduated out of FTII. Other not­able first-timers associated with the project are Oscar-winning Resul Pookutty in sound design and Reema Kagti’s first as an assistant director.
