Gorakhpur: Another Man Arrested For Posting 'Obnoxious' Content Against UP CM Yogi Adityanath

Sharing the photograph of the arrested man, the Gorakhpur police said they had arrested the man for posting obnoxious content defaming Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Two days after a Delhi-based freelance journalist Prashant Kanojia, an editor and an anchor of a Noida-based new channel were arrested, another man was taken into custody by Gorakhpur police on Sunday.

Sharing the photograph of the arrested man, the Gorakhpur police said they had arrested the man for posting "obnoxious content defaming Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath". The police have also recovered the mobile phone which was used to post the content.

On Saturday, two men in plain clothes arrived at Kanojia's residence and took him to Lucknow without producing an arrest warrant, his wife said.

A day later, the editor and anchor of a TV news channel were also arrested for showing the same video and conducting a discussion on the same.

The video featured a woman who, speaking to the reporters outside CM's office, claimed she and Aditynath had been talking over video calls, adding she was there to discuss her future with him.
